What actually belongs on the back of a business card

Most cards are printed on one side because the second side costs a little more and nobody decided what to put there. That is half your surface area going blank for want of a decision.

The front has one job

Your name, what you do, and the one contact method you actually want used. That is the front. Every extra line competes with the name and makes the card slower to read at the moment it matters, which is someone glancing at it while still talking to you.

So the back is where everything that does not survive that edit goes.

Things worth the back

Things that waste it

A repeat of the front, only smaller. Your logo alone, floating in the middle, doing nothing. A stock photo unrelated to the work. A mission statement nobody will read standing up.

Designing the two together

The two sides should look related, not identical. Carry the palette and the typeface across; change the layout. A dark front with a light back is a common and effective pairing, because the back is the side people write on and read up close.

In BotPrints the back can inherit the front's colours and fonts automatically, or you can pick a matching back template, print the same design on both sides, or start from blank. Whichever route you take, you are choosing rather than defaulting, which is the whole point.

BotPrints builds every card on this spec automatically, with the trim and safe lines drawn while you work.
