Business cards for contractors and trades

Designed on the phone already in your pocket, on stock that survives a glovebox. Licence number where the blade cannot reach it, and a QR that goes straight to your quote form.

Stock that survives a work van

Waterproof synthetic shrugs off a wet glovebox, 16pt cardstock does not fold in a shirt pocket, and 17pt magnet sticks to a boiler, a fridge or a van door where a paper card gets lost.

Layouts already built for electricians, plumbers, HVAC, builders, landscapers and equipment hire, already spaced correctly.

Your licence number, printed

The editor draws the safe area while you work, so a licence or registration number sits where the cutter cannot shave it off.

What belongs on a trade card

Your trade, in the words a customer would use
“Emergency electrician” wins more work than “JR Services LLC”. The company name can go second; what you do goes first, and it should be readable at arm's length.
One number you actually answer
An office line, a mobile, an email and a website makes the reader choose, and a reader who has to choose does nothing. Give them one.
A licence or registration number
The cheapest trust signal on the card, and in several trades it is the specific thing a customer is looking for before they call.
The area you cover
Two or three towns, or a radius. It answers the first question every customer has, and it stops calls you would only have turned down.
A QR to the thing you want them to do
A quote form or a booking page beats a homepage. QR codes that actually scan covers how big it needs to be and how much clear space it needs around it.

Questions people ask

What stock holds up best in a work van?
Waterproof synthetic, which is a plastic-based sheet rather than paper, so damp and grease do not destroy it. If you want a paper card, 16pt is stiff enough that it does not come out of a shirt pocket bent.
Do you print magnet business cards?
Yes, on 17pt magnet. For a trade it is often the best value on the list: a card that lives on a customer's fridge or boiler for three years is a very different thing from one in a drawer.
Can I put my licence number on the card?
Yes, and the editor makes sure it survives. It draws the safe area exactly where the blade's tolerance ends, so anything you would be upset to lose stays well inside it.
Can I change the number and reprint?
Yes, and reordering forks a copy of the design first. That is deliberate: your past orders keep showing the artwork they were actually printed from, so changing a phone number on the new copy cannot rewrite your own history.
How fast can I get them?
Standard orders arrive in a few business days, and there is a rush 1-2 day turnaround at checkout if you need them for a job that is already booked.
I already have a card design. Can I just print it?
PNG, JPEG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC, PDF and layered Photoshop files all work, and a two-page PDF is read as the front and the back because that is how designers export them. EPS is not accepted — export a PDF instead. Whatever you send is checked and re-encoded at upload, and you see a report of what we made of it before anything is created.
